Chamaerops humilis

Mediterranean region.
Palm-shaped leaves of dark green color, petiole of up to 1 m length with abundant thorns. It is a multicaule palm and some of their trunks can reach more than 4 m height. The trunk is usually covered with remains of dry petiole and fiber. It is a dioic species.
It is a very rustic palm that tolerates all type of grounds although it grows better and more vigorous in rich grounds and with abundant waterings in summer. It resists the drought and the winter, including sea winds.
Their use is usually general in any garden for being a palm that supports the cold well, up to 12 under zero. In garden rocks, isolated groups, corners. angles, patios and terraces, etc.. is when this palm shines itself and enhances any garden of any dimension for its distinguished bush bearing.
