Trachycarpus Fortunei

Palm tree with relatively short palmate leaves and a single, slender trunk—totally or partially covered with a type of coarse fibrous material—that can reach 10-12 meters high. It is a monoecious species.

Very rustic. Though it thrives in coastal areas, it is one of the most cold- and frost-resistant palms. It survives in the Himalayas at an altitude of 2,400 metres with snow 4-5 months out of the year. It can also be seen in London, Paris, Madrid, Burgos and other inland regions of Spain.

It is an exotic brushstroke in Spain’s cooler gardens and it can also withstand the extreme 43° heat of the Costa del Sol without the leaves drying out. It is ideal for both public parks and private gardens.
